Environmental Criminal Law
Our practice in Environmental Criminal Law serves both individuals and legal entities. Since the enactment of Law No. 9605/98, commonly known as the Environmental Crime Law, environmental issues have gained significant prominence within the realm of criminal law.
Given the complexities in this area, specialized legal representation is crucial, particularly in navigating corporate criminal liability, which applies specifically to environmental offenses. Moreover, there is a growing emphasis on proactive measures by companies, including the establishment of internal crime prevention programs, particularly regarding negligence.
Consequently, our activities are structured into two main areas: litigation, where we defend the interests of individuals or companies in criminal investigations and lawsuits; and advisory services, where we provide legal counsel on company-initiated matters and implement compliance programs aimed at identifying potential risks and preventing environmental crimes.
